Though the surrounding Scottish countryside is as calm and quiet as it is beautiful, there are some options for the more adventurous of visitors.
Quad Biking is available a few minutes drive from the bed and breakfast at Broomhill farm - Black Isle Quad Biking! Anyone from individuals, families to work, stag or hen parties are welcome; also available are more challenging technical rides for the more experienced rider. Group sizes can range from 2-6 per outing, with larger groups running in relays. A range of bikes are available to cater for kids and adults with safety being of top importance.
Ecoventures in Cromarty offer thrilling boat rides aboard their RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat), witnessing first hand the scenery, wildlife and history of the area. Tours run through the Sutors into the Firth to see the bottlenose dolphins, porpoise, common and grey seals, even the occasional minke whale. Commentary is given throughout the trip and refreshments are provided on return. Waterproofs are also provided along with headbands and goggles.
Paintballing, Lasertag and Airsoft is available at Wildwoodz Paintball Park in Inverness. Great for groups, available all year and not too expensive.
From Inverness, take the A9 north, over the Kessock Bridge with its beautiful views over the Moray Firth. Pass a sign for the Dolphin Centre and head for Black Isle. At the Tore roundabout, head for Fortrose and Cromarty. Pass through Munlochy, continue on to Fortrose. More Details
