Munlochy
Munlochy is a small village on the way to Fortrose, with it's bay a point of interest as a breading area for birds. Munlochy bay attracts large numbers of bird watchers.
Clootie Well lies just to the north of Munlochy, the place where pilgrims came (and still do) to leave strips of cloth as offerings to cure illness. A rather strange remnant of an ancient tradition once commonly found in Scotland and Ireland of holy wells to which pilgrims would come and make offerings. The tradition dates back into pre-Christian times.
For those who would prefer a wee dram, a few miles West of Munlochy lies the Black Isle Brewery! Founded in 1998 by David Gladwin. The Black Isle has long been known for its excellent malting barley. Black Isle Brewery produces world class beers using organically produced barley and hops.

From Inverness, take the A9 north, over the Kessock Bridge with its beautiful views over the Moray Firth. Pass a sign for the Dolphin Centre and head for Black Isle. At the Tore roundabout, head for Fortrose and Cromarty. Pass through Munlochy, continue on to Fortrose. More Details
